About the African Youth End FGM Virtual Academy
Background
Female Genital Mutilation is a harmful practice that is driven by cultural and social norms among many ethnic groups in Africa. Available data indicates that majority of people in countries where FGM prevalence is high; think it should end, however, there must be a change in the social, religious and cultural norms that drive this harmful practice. It is against this background that YouthHubAfrica and the African Youth Commission have partnered to accelerate the end of Female Genital Mutilation and harmful practices by 2030.
