Are you a young African with a fire in your belly for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? If so, this scholarship program is tailor-made for you. The Ban Ki-moon Centre Global Citizenship Scholarship Program 2024 isn’t just your run-of-the-mill scholarship. It’s a fully virtual journey that empowers you to become a change-maker in your community.

This fully virtual program is designed to empower 17 young changemakers between the ages of 20 and 35 from Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ethiopia, and Kenya. If you’re a citizen of one of these countries, hold at least a bachelor’s degree, and are fired up about the SDGs and global citizenship, then read on!

Are You Eligible?

  • Open to African youth from Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ethiopia, and Kenya.
  • Age range? 20–35. Got your degree? Bachelor’s or higher.

How to Apply for Ban Ki-moon Centre Global Citizenship Scholarship

  • Personal and professional details: this includes your name, contact information, date of birth, address, citizenship, gender, education, language competence, a short profile description of yourself, academic titles, name of organization, and function.
  • SDG Micro-Project Idea: Ensure your project idea is really interesting and focus on solving a major problem in line with SDG’s goals. Your project idea should include the title, issues and SDGs tackled, general process, and, of course, implementation process.
  • Your motivational statement: Your motivation statement is your salespoint, ensure you are able to convince the selection board with your write up.
  • Lastly, prepare your CV and a passport photograph, and you are also required to make an introduction video of yourself.
