The Erasmus mundus scholarship is a Fully funded scholarship run by a collaborative partnership of multiple higher education institutions and the European Union with the aim of providing quality higher education learning for interested and eligible students from these selected countries.

Recognized Countries

There are two categories of countries recognized by the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship article 16 constitution.

  1. The Program country students

These are the EU member states which include: Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden and some countries recognized as third countries associated with the program. These third countries include; members of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) which are also members of the European Economic Area (EEA). They are 3 in number: Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

Also, countries in accordance with the treaty of Erasmus Mundus Scholarships’ tenets. Such countries are referred to as candidate countries. They include; North Macedonia, Republic of Turkey and Republic of Serbia.

  1. The Partner country students

They are referred to as third countries not associated to the program. All in accordance with section 17 of Erasmus Mundus Scholarships’ constitution.
